QEC Overview
The Quick Exposure Check (QEC) is an ergonomic assessment tool designed to evaluate worker exposure to risk factors associated with work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs). The QEC assesses four key body areas—back, shoulder/arm, wrist/hand, and neck—by involving both the practitioner (observer) and the worker in evaluating tasks and identifying ergonomic risk factors. This tool allows users to assess ergonomic risks and implement interventions to reduce WMSD exposure, improving workplace health and safety.
The QEC is particularly useful for occupational safety professionals and ergonomists in industrial and office environments where manual handling, repetitive movements, and awkward postures are common.
